The ongoing voter registration deadline which was meant to close on the 24th February 2023 has been extended to the 10th March 2023. All those who qualify as voters are encouraged to maximise this opportunity and register to be part of the upcoming local government elections. Our registration centres are located at Mangwaneni Social Centre, Mankayane Bus Rank entrance as well as at the Board’s offices.
WHO CAN REGISTER TO VOTE?
Stakeholders can register to vote if they pass the following requirements:
- Must be Liswati with a national Identity Card (ID).
- You must be 18 years or above.
- You must have resided or conducted business in town for at least 6 months.
- You must be a property owner in town.
- You must be an occupier of a property in town.
- If you are a juristic person representative.
WHAT TO BRING TO REGISTER?
For a successful registration process a qualifying voter is required to bring the following at the registration station:
- Identity Card.
- Proof of residence (could be a lease agreement, electricity receipt, water statement/bill etc.
- Proof that you have resided/conducted business in the town for a minimum of six months.
Juristic persons representatives must bring the following:
- Proof of company registration
- Proof of nomination meeting
- Resolution and Letter of appointment
WHY IS REGISTERING TO VOTE IMPORTANT?
Our service delivery improves more when people of all backgrounds within the town’s boundaries participate, more especially during the local government elections. If you are not registered, you will not be eligible to vote. Make your vote count and register before the aforementioned deadline.
