Mankayane – The race was very tough and challenging

These were sentiments made by Mankayane Town Clerk Mr. Madlopha David, after conquering the 25km race in 1:19:56 hours to be awarded the 3rd place podium finish. The 25km was part of the many races brought by the MTN Khemani Road Classic 2022 event, which included a 95km for males, 60km for males and females, a 25km for males and females and a 5km for the young cyclists.

The event which attracted over 100 cyclists, both local and international cyclists was hosted and staged at Mabovini in Mankayane on Sunday, November 13th, 2022. MTN Khemani re-introduced the much-anticipated event after missing the previous 2 years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As ‘The Centre of Attraction,’ Mankayane Town is proud to have been once again selected to host this big event.

Cllr. Cyril Kunene, the Interim Vice Chairman in his remarks commended the cyclists for coming in numbers and showing such interest in the sport. “The town is pleased to host such a massive event and as the Board we wish nothing but the best as the sport continues to expand” he added.

The event was graced with the presence of the Minister of Youth, Culture and Sports Mr. Madze Bulunga. He acknowledged all sponsors of the event, extending gratitude towards MTN Eswatini as the title sponsor for once again coming through for the sporting activity.
